Community Funds

Many donors prefer to leave the distribution of the income generated from their donation to the discretion of the Board of the Edmonton Community Foundation. These donors designate their gifts to the Community Funds. Donors may make gifts of any size to any existing Community Fund. With a gift of $10,000 or more, donors may create a named Community Fund.

Grants from Community Funds are recommended by the Foundation’s Distribution Committee and approved by the Board, which has full discretion in distributing these funds. While these grants are usually based on submitted applications, the Foundation has become more proactive in identifying and responding to rapidly changing community needs.
