Donor Advised Funds

Some donors wish to take a very active role in selecting the charities to be supported each year. Some may wish to encourage their children’s and/or grandchildren’s philanthropic growth by having them take part in annual selections of charities and programs to be supported by their fund. Siblings and other family members may be inspired to work together to identify shared charitable interests to support each year, perhaps in honour or memory of a loved one.

A Donor Advised Fund allows donors to provide annual advice and recommendations to the Foundation about which charitable programs they wish their funds to support. Indeed, a Donor Advised Fund offers much of the flexibility of a private foundation, with less cost and administrative work for the donor.

Corporate Donor Advised Funds provide mechanisms to celebrate milestones and opportunities for employees to be involved in community philanthropy.
