Fund Options: Fund Types

To ensure the Edmonton Community Foundation meets donors’ philanthropic goals, as well as the current and emerging needs of the community, the Foundation offers a variety of fund types to donors.

Every donor to the Foundation is different. Some prefer to allow the Foundation to make disbursement decisions through a competitive application process. This process addresses the changing needs of our community over very long periods of time.

Others prefer to be very involved in the granting decisions, each year providing advice and recommendations to the Board as to which charity(ies) are to receive the disbursements from their Funds.

And then there are many donors who prefer a particular area of charitable work or have specific charities in mind.
