Field of Interest Funds Many donors have a particular interest in a general charitable area such as the arts, culture, education, social services, health, recreation or the environment. These donors may wish to create a Field of Interest Fund to support that particular area or even narrow down the field to support specific age groups (children, youth, seniors), socio-economic factors (poverty, at risk) or types of endeavours (for example in the arts: theatre, music, visual arts). Fund Agreements help to define the field of interest and provide for alternatives should that area no longer need support in the future (eg: the care and feeding of retired milk horses). Having reviewed the purpose for each Field of Interest Fund, grants are recommended by the Foundation’s Distribution Committee and approved by the Board. While these grants are usually based on submitted applications, the Foundation has become more proactive in identifying and responding to rapidly changing community needs. >> Lois Hole Care & Nurture Legacy Fund >> Our Children's Millennium Fund >> List of Field of Interest Funds |
