You have many options for growing your fund to the $10,000 level when annual granting can begin – and adding to it afterward.

Reasons for giving gifts are as unique as our donors – to mark special occasions, holidays or birthdays, weddings, a special anniversary, remembrances.

Regardless of which option you choose, Foundation staff will help you maximize your benefits and minimize your taxes – to create a legacy of caring.

Fund (Third Party) Fundraising Guidelines:

Occasionally fund-holders host fundraising events and designate the proceeds to their fund at Edmonton Community Foundation. We would like to help promote these events through our social media channels.  In the interest of protecting our charitable status, we ask that groups hosting third-party fundraisers follow these guidelines:

  • Prospective event participants must be made aware of the amount that will be directed to the Foundation from each sale or donation. The following phrasing is encouraged - "Funds are being raised for the (name of fund) Fund held at Edmonton Community Foundation".
  • Event organizers must first discuss with the Director of Donor Services at Edmonton Community Foundation, in advance of the event, how proceeds will be forwarded to the Foundation and how charitable receipts will be issued.
  • Edmonton Community Foundation logo must be displayed on all promotional literature as per the guidelines posted the website (www.ecfoundation.org). Promotional literature and invitations must be submitted to the communications department of Edmonton Community Foundation for approval prior to printing and distribution.
  • The nature of the event, and the way the event is marketed, must be in good taste and not negatively impact the reputation of Edmonton Community Foundation.
