For Métis students who are residents of Alberta, demonstrate financial need, and intend to pursue a qualified program. Please see the following web page for more information.

Community Scholarships (application deadline August 31)

For Edmonton and area residents who are experiencing financial need, have a demonstrated history of community leadership and volunteerism, and who can demonstrate that the program being pursued will enhance their ability to contribute in a meaningful way to the not-for-profit sector. Please see the application package for more information.

Nancy Fairley Scholarship (nomination deadline May 31)

For Edmonton public or Catholic students enrolled in a full International Baccalaureate (IB) program in their final year of high school. Eligible students must have a high academic standing in the IB English 30 course and demonstrate a generally high academic standing. Nominees must demonstrate leadership qualities by contributing to their school and/or community. Please see the application package for more information.

Rose Margaret King Merit Awards
(Includes Don Howden & Jane Squire Howden Awards and Teri Taylor-Tunski Awards)
(application deadline May 15)

For students in financial need who have attended school in Edmonton at some point during their kindergarten through Grade 12 educational history. Priority is given to students who have attended an inner city school and, in particular, those who have attended Alex Taylor School. Please see the application package for more information.

Charmaine Letourneau Scholarships (application deadline August 31)

For Deaf or Hard of Hearing residents of Alberta who will attend an academic or training program at a qualified post-secondary institution. Please see the application package for more information.

 Al Maurer Awards (application deadline August 31)

For public service employees working in Edmonton who demonstrate public service excellence, commitment, and financial need. Please see the application package for more information.

 Awards for Young Musicians (application deadline January 15)
(Includes Alexandra Munn Scholarships and John & Andrea Wallin Awards)

For Edmonton area students ages 11 to 15 who demonstrate financial need and outstanding talent in classical music (voice and/or instrument). Please see the application package for more information.

Ranald & Vera Shean Memorial Scholarships (application deadline March 31)

For students from Edmonton or Northern Alberta, who are pursuing classical music study of violin or piano at a recognized post-secondary institution or with a recognized private music teacher. The primary criterion is quality of performance. Please see the application package for more information.

Winspear Fund Scholarships for Advanced Classical Music (application deadline March 31).

For Edmonton area students who have achieved local, national or international recognition in classical music (voice and/or instrument) and will pursue study outside the local area. Please see the application package for more information.

Youth Formerly In Care Bursary

The Youth Formerly in Care Bursary program is suspended for 2012 and under review.  We encourage eligible students to apply for other Edmonton Community Foundation student awards and to seek external funding opportunities, some of which are listed here.
