Edmonton Community Foundation has become a trusted and respected source both for donors looking for ways to support their community over the long term and for local charities looking for financial assistance to continue their good work.
The Foundation’s role as a bridge between philanthropists and advancing charitable works has proven extremely effective and useful to our community, and has underlined the unique expertise available through the Foundation’s staff and its volunteer Board and committees.
The Foundation is taking a more proactive role in community building, offering our community its unique leadership abilities in identifying priority initiatives and opportunities that will strengthen our community and enhance our quality of life over the long term.
The following pages highlight recent initiatives where the Foundation has chosen to team up with other community organizations to move our community toward solutions in a number of sectors. The Edmonton and Area Land Trust (EALT), Social Enterprise Fund (SEF), Foundation Directed Initiatives and other issue-specific funds illustrate innovative, responsive approaches towards answering today’s challenges and setting the foundations for tomorrow’s growth.
