The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts

Nina Haggerty success stories

Edmonton artist Nina Haggerty spent decades living in an institution. Only late in life, Nina began exploring her creative impulses. Finally finding an outlet for her creativity, she began to take her place in society.

Established under the SKILLS Society, and supported by the Edmonton People with Developmental Disabilities Community Board, the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts welcomes all adults with developmental disabilities to explore and express their creativity.

“The Nina Haggerty Centre is fast becoming the cultural centre of Norwood, with our artists making meaningful contributions to that community,” says Wendy Hollo, Centre director.

Over the past several years Edmonton Community Foundation has provided several grants.
