Russell / Reine Family Conservation Fund

This endowment fund, established by the Russell family in 2011, supports the conservation and stewardship activities of the Edmonton and Area Land Trust (EALT), a registered charity that conserves nature in Edmonton and area and engages people and communities in land conservation and stewardship.

“As a child I played in the Millcreek ravine catching tadpoles and looking and exploring the ravine. I also remember my father talking about his youth being out of doors; hearing the birds and enjoying the solitude. When I entered university I went into Biological sciences and have pursued this area for over 40 years, both in my career and as a volunteer, protecting and stewarding natural areas. When I became involved with the Edmonton and Area Land Trust, I thought it would be a great idea to establish a stewardship fund for conservation, so all of our families’ children and grandchildren could continue to explore nature and enjoy the outdoors. When I presented the idea to my siblings they all agreed this would be a tribute to our family…” Margaret Reine (nee Russell)

Thank you to the Russell family and all who donate to this endowment fund. Your donations will help EALT conserve and care for ecologically important lands in Edmonton and area.
