Connie McLaws Memorial Fund
On September 17, 2021, Connie’s four-year cancer journey came to an end. On the first anniversary of her death, Connie’s friends and family are launching an endowment in her name to support young singers in their studies.
The Connie McLaws Memorial Fund, once endowed, will support an annual $1,000 award in Connie’s name, to be given to a student in Opera Workshop at the University of Alberta. Connie was an important part of the music community at the U of A, and it is a fitting legacy that her name should continue to be a part of that community, supported by her family, friends and colleagues.
