Dwayne Mandrusiak Legacy Fund for Amateur Football

1,000+ games, 11 Grey Cup rings, and 49 seasons as the equipment manager for the Edmonton Football Club. Dwayne Mandrusiak is a fixture in the Edmonton sport scene. Through five decades, he made a name for himself in the world of professional football which will more than likely earn him a spot in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame some day.

While Dwayne became synonymous with the double E, he also dedicated his life to making sure that amateur football players across Alberta would be well protected when they stepped on the field. Working closely with teams from bantam to the university ranks, Dwayne was always willing to provide his expertise to teams and leagues that needed it.

In 2019, Football Alberta recognized Dwayne with the Gary Hobson Memorial Award. An annual honour bestowed to the volunteer of the year. His legacy will forever be tied to the professional ranks, but his impact on amateur athletes will not be forgotten.

The Dwayne Mandrusiak Legacy Fund for Amateur Football will ensure his commitment to creating a better community will live on for generations. This fund has been set up to provide annual support to amateur football across Alberta to honour the legacy of a football legend who has spent over 50 years involved in the sport.
