Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society Fund
Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS) is a registered charity and not-for-profit membership organization that promotes and supports the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM), one of Canada’s leading heritage institutions in a variety of ways — most importantly through telling Alberta’s stories. Its primary role is to serve as a dynamic link between the museum and the community through programs and events.
For forty years FRAMS has built a community that encourages deeper engagement and connection with the RAM. With the support of its members, donors and friends, FRAMS funds a variety of important programs that support access and activities at the RAM. The Go! Program helps eliminate some of the financial barriers to accessing the museum. FRAMS’ Indigenous Student Museum Internship Program gives First Nations, Métis and Inuit post-secondary students an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience working at a museum. FRAMS continually holds events to engage our members and the general public in order to bring awareness to the RAM and their programs and exhibits, we fundraise and seek sponsorship for our programs and support special projects initiated by the RAM.
This fund was established in 2022 to maintain operational stability for FRAMS for years to come. “There is now a fund that our members and donors can contribute to, to make sure that, from an operational standpoint, we exist well into the future,” says Rav Rupnarain, president of FRAMS “enabling us to meet our goals and the goals of RAM, operate our programs, and continue to build a sustainable and beneficial relationship with RAM.”
