Nora and Don Prentice Family Fund

Nora (ne’ Russell) and Donald Prentice moved their young family of three from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Edmonton in 1957 where the youngest Prentice was born shortly thereafter. The relocation was initiated by Don, a watchmaker and jeweller, obtaining a position as assistant manager at the original Irving Klein Jewellers on Jasper Avenue (the “Clock on the Walk”) where he worked for many years.  Once the Prentice children were all in school, Nora worked at a number of drug stores in Edmonton as a salesperson. The family resided in the Fulton Place neighbourhood. Although the family members ultimately relocated to other locations as the years passed, they always carried Edmonton with them in their hearts.

A few years after Nora passed away in 2002 after returning to Edmonton (Don passed in 1998), the family thought it appropriate to establish a donor advised fund in Edmonton which supports community members that require assistance from time to time.
