Patricia Garrett Wings of Providence Society Legacy Fund

Patricia Garrett, a visionary leader and most dedicated Executive Director of WINGS of Providence, has announced her retirement after 33 years. Pat has distinguished herself as a professional of the greatest ability, integrity, and tenacity, and has given wholeheartedly of herself in the service of vulnerable women and children who have escaped abuse. Under Ms. Garrett’s leadership, WINGS of Providence which opened in 1987, has transcended from a 12 unit second-stage shelter to a 20 unit second stage shelter, and first of its kind 29 unit affordable housing facility. Pat has led the operation of the highest quality of safe housing and implemented innovative, trauma informed counseling and life skills programs to 1293 women and 2927 children.

Pat has left an imprint on the family violence prevention sector, her staff, stakeholders, and the many women and their children who have resided at WINGS. She leaves behind an unforgettable legacy of leadership, wisdom, and love, and we would like to honour her – with your help.

Friends, family and colleagues have joined together to honour Pat’s legacy by creating the Patricia Garrett Wings of Providence Society Legacy Fund, a permanent endowment fund that will provide sustainable support for WINGS of Providence for years to come!
