Shirley Brauer Award for Women in Science

Family, friends and colleagues of Shirley Brauer have created an Award through the Edmonton Community Foundation to honour her memory and the dedication she displayed to teaching scientific studies to students at Paul Kane High School.

The Shirley Brauer Award for Women in Science will be handed out each year to a grade 12 student who has demonstrated the attributes of courage, ingenuity, determination, compassion and the syntheses of ideas in scientific studies.

Students will apply for this award and the recipient will be selected by Paul Kane officials based on criteria established to determine the student who best exemplifies the qualities Shirley always brought to her classrooms.

This award will ensure Shirley will continue to play a role in the education of Paul Kane students for many years to come.
