Wong, Siu Sik

Siu Sik was born in Kowloon, Hong Kong, the only child of Lincoln Kam Kwan Wong and Agnes Choi Tsoi Mok, both teachers. He came to Edmonton in 1964 where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Alberta.

He worked for 25 years as a real estate appraiser with the firm of Ed Shaske and Associates. In his retirement he enjoyed Chinese calligraphy, poetry, European classical music, and tending his vegetable garden. Quietly and methodically, he brewed more than thirty-three thousand pots of fine Chinese tea for his family and guests at home.

He is lovingly remembered by Yoko, his wife of 50 years; children Sophia and Leo; cousin Rudy Ma (May Ma), niece Karen Ma (Robin Ajello), nephew Karvin Ma (Lauren Bradfor), friends and neighbours.

Siu Sik was a lifelong lover of classical music and especially enjoyed watching operas with his son Leo. To honour his memory, donations may be made to the Edmonton Community Foundation to support the public performance of opera, light opera and classical music in Edmonton.
