Are you passionate about your community?

Edmonton Community Foundation is looking for volunteers for our grants sub-committees!

Volunteers play a key role in our granting work. Grants sub-committees review grant applications and provide recommendations to the Granting Programs Committee.

To better serve communities, we are seeking to appoint diverse and balanced committees that reflect the diversity of the greater Edmonton Area. We encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of linguistic, ethnic, sexual and gender, and other minority communities.

Volunteers can be reimbursed for expenses related to being on a sub-committee, such as childcare or transportation.

Applications are due March 18, 2024.

Commitment:

  • Review applications and submit written feedback prior to scheduled meeting (twice a year).
  • Meet two times a year (typically April/May and October/November) to make recommendations for the Granting Programs Committee. Meetings may occur during or after business hours, depending on when committee members are available. Meetings are held in-person, at the ECF office.
  • Attend 1-2 professional development opportunities per year.
  • Attend some ECF events or informal gatherings.
  • An understanding that not all applications can be approved. While declining a request can be difficult, it is a key role of the sub-committees.
