TWEWS Episode 3: CANAVUA Community Food Truck

New service concept provides food security all over Edmonton

The pandemic is highlighting many gaps in our communities safety nets. One of the largest is food security. Food security means having reliable access to a sufficient amount of affordable, nutritious food.

Many of us take this for granted. But for some Edmontonians, access to food, especially during the pandemic has been a serious challenge. Last year, Edmonton Community Foundation provided a grant to Canadian Volunteers United in Action (CANAVUA). This funding was used to support a unique food truck program that brings nutritious, culturally appropriate food to the doorsteps of those who need it most.

In this episode we go cruising with the team of culinary do-gooders behind the CANAVUA Community Food Truck as they deliver nutritious, culturally appropriate food, to Edmontonians in need.
